A little background on Abergavenny:
Abergavenny is the largest town in Monmouthshire in South Wales. Monmouthshire is part of the preserved county of Gwent. Abergavenny was once an iron smelting centre in the Iron Age, the Romans built a fort here, and the Normans built Abergavenny Castle out of stone on the same hilltop overlooking the River Usk. The remains of the castle are Grade I listed. The Keep of the Castle survived the English Civil War, during which the main walls of the castle were severely damaged, and now houses Abergavenny Museum.
